The applications submitted to the SDE19 Call for Teams by 17th November 2017 were judged by an international jury of professional experts. The members of the Selection Committee were jointly selected and delegated by Energy Endeavour Foundation, the organization designating Szentendre to be the host city of the event, and ÉMI Non-profit Llc. The submitted applications were evaluated and compared based on 23 aspects of review along the following main subject matters:

  • technical innovation and applied design approach;
  • organization and project planning;
  • sponsorship engagement and team support: financial planning, involvement of existing resources and industrial players, fund raising potential;
  • conceptual inventions, the novelty of the conceptual approach, expectable direct and indirect benefits for the target groups;
  • composition of the professional team, extent of integration in the university curriculum;
  • business potential, risk management, geographical and technological diversity, alignment the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
